Are you having trouble growing a full, proper beard? Many men struggle to grow the beard they desire because of their genetics. Because their beards come in patchy and spotty, some men are looking to beard transplants to achieve the facial hair they desire.
For many men, beards are a fashion statement. It’s like another accessory that they wear day in and day out. But for others, a beard is a way to hide or emphasize a facial feature. A beard can help hide scars or enhance a small or recessed chin. But no matter what the purpose of the beard, it is frustrating if you can’t grow the one you want.
That full beard is a sign of masculinity and while some are just born with the ability to produce that lumberjack look, some men need a little help.
Beard transplants are a great way to permanently fix the patchy problems. The procedure only takes two to four hours to complete. During the process, hairs are harvested from the donor site on the back of the patient’s head. These hair seeds are then placed in the thinning or patchy area of the beard. The donor site is closed by a hidden suture that will be removed 10 days following the surgery.
Within two to three months, the small hairs that were transplanted will begin to grow on their own and create the full beard appearance. If the area of thinness is large or the patient wants to add even more bulk, they may opt for additional procedures.
