In both men and women there are many causes and types of hair loss.
The most common loss for men is male pattern baldness (MPB). Signs of male pattern baldness include: receeding hair line and thinning on the top and/or crown. The highest rates of MPB are found among Caucasians, followed by Afro-Caribbeans. Chinese and Japanese men have the lowest rates of male pattern baldness.
Female hair loss can follow two patterns of baldness. One is like male pattern baldness and the other is diffused thinning all over. It can also be caused by many other factors ranging from hormonal imbalances, compulsive hair-pulling to side effects from medication.
“Female hair loss tends to be more diffused all over. Women do not typically bald in one single area like men. We can recommend different treatments to help with this type of female hair loss.”
